HEIRLOOM

a short documentary about hope, community and the future

My parents came of age in the 60s—they protested war, fought for the environment and raised our family in a “back to the land” community. This essay documentary contemplates the baby-boomers’ legacy of social change and my own  generation’s apathy. As my parents retire and relocate, I join them on a 4-month trek across the US. Heirloom follows my unique family as we survey the changing landscape of our country, confronting each other's notions of idealism, social responsibility and hope.
